Having a loved one in the military is a bittersweet hodgepodge of emotions. There is an infinite sense of pride in your soldier, sailor, airman, or marine. Yet, at the same time, there is a constant sense of concern for his/her safety and well-being. At times, missing your soldier, or your “boots,” (as military families affectionately refer to their soldiers) can be all-consuming. You feel as though you would give anything just to hear their voice – to know that they’re safe and well.
